8th Annual Huber Wine Tasting
Nov 23rd, 2011Join us as we welcome our friends from the Huber Orchard and Winery
for our Thanksgiving Eve tradition. We'll be sampling many of their
great wines, including the elusive Pop's Reserve. Here is our list of wines we will be tasting:
- Huber Traminette - This hybrid of a Gewurztraminer, released by Cornell University in 1996,
is distinguished by its superior wine quality due to its balance
between sugar levels, acidity and ph. It is spicy with a unique aromatic
florality with hints of honeysuckle in the palate.
-
Huber Niagara - Bold, intense, and fun are just a few words that have
been used to describe Huber Winery’s estate-grown Niagara. Rich and
complex spicy sensations balanced with mild sweetness overwhelm the
palate with flavor. Niagara finishes with lingering candy flavors of
grape
and tropical fruit.
- Huber Spiced Apple - Fresh picked apples are blended with fall spices for a great treat.
Serve this chilled, or mull it a bit for a completely different
experience.
- Huber Pop's Reserve - Huber's Nouveau style wine, made from Concord grapes and aged in oak barrels for a unique flavor.
- Huber Blackberry Wine -Huber's own sun-ripened blackberries make this wine delightfully soft, mellow, and rich in flavor. This sweet wine is made from 100% blackberries. With its combination of
mellow, dark fruit flavors, and crisp acidity, this wine is one of our
local favorites.
- Huber Generations - Hearty flavored red wine. Enjoy with red meats and hearty dishes.
- Huber Raspberry Infusion - After distilling fermenting raspberries and creating a raspberry eau de
vie, this is then aged for 6 months. Redistilling is required as well as
adding estate grown black and red raspberries to create a perfect
companion to chocolate.
This tasting is open to the public (21 and older of course!)
