Valentines Day Wine Tasting (Clarksville Location)
Feb 9th, 2012
Valentines Wine TastingJoin
us on February 9th from 5 - 8 PM as we hold our Valentines Wine
Tasting. We have selections that are perfect for your sweetheart on this
special day. Here is the lineup:
- Mercer Riesilng: Brimming with fresh fruit, the 2009 Riesling displays fresh
apricot, peach and tangerine supported by lanolin and lime. Peach and
apricot aromas are complimented by tea leaf on the palate with lively
acidity and minerality. The finish is long, off-dry and deftly balanced
of acid and sugar.
- Samantha Starr Chardonnay - This delicious Chardonnay was stainless steel fermented to retain the
pure fruit flavors and aged in French oak barrels for added complexity.
Medium straw in color, the nose shows balanced elements of tropical
fruits and fresh citrus. On the palate it exhibits ripe bananas, peach
and just a hint of toasty oak. The long, crisp finish is soft with
sweet yeasty overtones. This is a wonderful food friendly wine that
will pair well with a variety of dishes.
- Chook Sparkling Shiraz - Vivid ruby, with a frothy mousse. Bright raspberry and cherry on the
nose and palate, with subtle white pepper and spice notes adding
vibrancy. Nervy and less sweet than most versions of this genre, with
good back-end lift and tangy bite. Finishes with good clarity and a
strong echo of fresh red berries.
- Plungerhead Zinfandel - With deep garnet color, the nose reminds one of caramelized oak,
chocolate covered strawberries, and savory subtle sage. The mouthfeel is
soft but the flavors are vibrant with notes of cassis, vanilla rum,
pecan pie, and black cherries with a warm, lingering finish.
- Mollydooker Two Left Feet - With complex aromas of raspberry, plum, white chocolate and a touch of
smoky earth, this is rich and layered with spicy dark fruit, chocolate
and silky tannins. This blend has superb aromas of butterscotch, plum,
white chocolate, cherries and raspberry. Its big, unctuous texture and
incredibly dense, spicy fruit give you a wonderfully rounded mouth-feel
and a silky smooth finish.
- Twenty Bench Cabernet Sauvignon - True to the Twenty Bench style, deep, dark hue, rich, complex nose with
dense color, lots of cassis, blackberry, licorice and quite lush, good
natural vineyard concentration and balanced with nice vanilla oak. This
is a profound example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that can easily
hang with Napa Cabs at twice the price.
This event is free and open to the public (21 and older)
