Need an excuse to indulge in a cocktail or two during Earth Month this April? Well, drinking select bottles of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey will help put more trees on the planet. The distillery is partnering with nonprofit conservation organization American Forests to plant about 100,000 saplings with the proceeds from the sale of a collectible bottle. According to American Forests, the trees planted on behalf of eco-minded whiskey drinkers will sequester about 33,000 tons of CO2. Jack Daniel's, which uses wood barrels to mature its liquor, says that tree conservation is vital to its business. "Jack Daniel's would not be the same product without these special woods that are used in the making of our whiskey," says master distiller Jeff Arnett.
